is just damn brilliant! Got hooked. This has got to be the first (and only) online game that i’ll ever play this year, seeing that I’m good at neglecting every popular online game on the neighborhood (ever since Ragnarok Online at the very beginning of the online craze here in the Philippines).

My steam name is jerieljan btw, that isn’t so hard to guess… XD

If there’s one thing noticeable in CLANNAD (as well as other Japanese games, although not always) is that it has a huge total file size, which is really sad seeing that it is just a visual novel, a reading game that uses only text and simple backgrounds and sprites and with barely any interactivity at all (you just select between 2-3 options when needed). CLANNAD, by the way, consumes up to 2GBs (3 for the added voice patch) of hard drive space.

That’s a sad thing, really. This is because they used uncompressed formats for their BGM and sprites. This particular post is all about how to compress at least the BGM so you can save some space off of that drive. Read More »

I present to thee, my stack of original games! Well, it’s an achievement for me since nearly everyone gets er… “Student Versions” anyway.

    Classes have begun and so does course adjustment. To those who don’t know, it’s when people do last minute changes to their course schedule for the term as well as to appeal any courses that they were in but got dissolved for any particular reason.

Point is, long queues had begun ever since the first day of classes just for the sake of this adjustment. Funnily, everyone resorted to this method (see below) because it was really tiring to just stand there for ages.

A big slowpoke for me on this one. Funnily, this is all because I don’t bother with this journal much. Anyways, I saw a comment posted here on my earlier gamepatch.se post

The comment (by Dessert) said that the site has now moved on to http://www.game-patch.org/ . Good. I guess this should clear up the whole issue on the team suddenly disappearing.

Now patience! Wait for those patches.

At long last.

They managed to deliver the computer. The computer is awesome so far, now that I don’t have to overuse my laptop anymore, as well as the high specifications. Games and Applications run fast as a breeze and what’s more, it’s Vista! oh wait. That’s not a good thing *shrinks partition then places a Linux one instead*.

Only a few more days still classes start.

UPDATE: Take note, this patch works for the older version of CLANNAD. (A remake was made, featuring better CGs, just double the resolution, no additional game or story content included).

Patch: HERE || All you have to do is replace the SEEN.TXT from your game directory with this one.

=====

The whole thing has been translated (albeit with harsh / rough translations at that.)Includes both School Life and After Story sections. Here it is.

Good news to the people that loved the CLANNAD anime series, as well as to those who bought the Japanese CLANNAD visual novel but can’t read it due to the fact that they can’t understand the Japanese language because fan translation groups managed to resurrect the English project. Translations are nearly in completion.
