The addons below are for Firefox 2. Although most would still work on the latest, it’s not exactly efficient to have all those running at the same time.
Anyway, I’ve been using these firefox addons in 3.5.

I’ll compile my Firefox Addons from here on. Firefox Extensions are like plugins that you can use and download for free that can extend the capabilities of your Firefox browser. In fact, it can extend it so much that it becomes a necessity to browsing and would indeed make browsing the internet safer, better and easier.
First, add-ons can be found mostly on http://addons.mozilla.org
Second, all these addons are compatible with Firefox 3, Beta 5 and Firefox 2 so no worries. (It’ll work with both the stable version and the cutting-edge latest version.)
Nearly all of them work with the Firefox 3 Release Candidate
Lastly, the list:
- Adblock Plus : Blocks most annoying advertisements. Especially the flash and gif ones.
- Abduction : Allows you to capture parts of a web page, or the whole page itself in an image file.
- BugMeNot : Allows you to bypass obligatory logins from websites using generic, user-submitted accounts.
- chatZilla : IRC client support on Firefox.
- Download StatusBar : Replaces the Downloads window with a simple, minimalistic status bar.
- DownThemAll : Download Manager (allows pause and resume of downloads) in Firefox.
- Fission : Combines the status bar with the Address bar. Good in saving space.
- Flashblock : Blocks all flash objects in a page. Unblocks it by selecting it. Think, youtube’s play button.
- GooglePreview : inserts thumbnails of your Google search results.
- Grab and Drag : allows a PDF-style way of navigation, that is, using the mouse to scroll the page.
- GreaseMonkey : allows the use of user-created scripts
- Hide Menubar : Hides the menubar and only shows it whenever you press ALT. It’s not as if you’d always click on it anyway. Think, IE7 and Vista’s explorer windows
- IETab : Switches firefox’s rendering engine to Internet Explorer’s. Good for visiting IE fanboy sites like Microsoft.
- Rikaichan : If you enjoy reading / translating / learning Japanese, this is good for you as it can display kanji / character meanings using small informative tooltips.
- Speed Dial : Replaces your home page (if you want to) with 9 thumbnails (or more) of your selected websites. Good if you want to keep track of many sites but when thumbnails are more than enough.
- Stylish : Similar to Greasemonkey but allows you to create and use scripts that modify the looks (CSS) only.
- Text Link : Allows you to easily go to unlinked urls by double-click, without the hassle of copypasting the URL to your address bar
- Tree Style Tab : Expands the tabs’ functionality by allowing a tree-like behavior and allows a vertical tab layout, in case you view way too many pages to fit the usual horizontal tab bar.
- WOT (Web of Trust) : Displays the Trustworthiness, Reliability, Privacy and Child Safety ratings of a website from user ratings.

Wow, amazing. Thanks, dude. I didn’t know the half of these existed, and they’re awesome. This will help me a lot, considering I spend hours almost every day just browsing stuff on Firefox. Thank you so much for compiling this.
